Referral for Evaluation

Children are referred for preschool in a variety of ways:  parent request, doctor referral, and through Help Me Grow services.  Some possible concerns are for speech, communication, vision, hearing,  social emotional, behavior, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, self-care, or a developmental delay.  If there is enough evidence, the preschool team may move to the evaluation stage. Children who qualify for services through an IEP can attend Little Bucks Preschool at no cost.

Parent Request or Doctor Referral

Parents who have developmental concerns should reach out to Tracy Taylor at (330) 722-8257 ext 1005 or ttaylor@buckeyeschools.org. You will be asked to provide the following information:

  • Child's Name
  • Child's Birthdate
  • Your Name, Address, Phone Number, and Email Address
  • Your specific concerns for your child
  • If your doctor has expressed developmental concerns, please include this information. You may be asked to provide any testing information that has already been completed.

A preschool staff member will then contact you to discuss your concerns and set up a possible classroom or home visit.

Help Me Grow

If your child is currently receiving Help Me Grow Services, your case manager will schedule a meeting that will include preschool staff members. At this meeting the team will decide if your child may continue to need these services after he/she turns 3. If it is determined that services may need to continue, the preschool team will conduct an evaluation (ETR).  You will be asked to register at this time.
